STATE WOMEN’S CONFERENCE: S.O URGES WOMEN TO EMBRACE THEIR IDENTITY AS AGENTS OF CHANGE

The State Overseer of Deeper Life Bible Church (DLBC) Ondo South, Pastor Stephen Buraimoh, has called on women to rise into their God-given purpose and embrace their full identity as transformative agents in the home, church, and society.

Speaking during the 2025 State Women’s Conference themed “Transformed Bride on the Narrow Way,” held at the Itanla DLBC Headquarters, the cleric delivered a stirring charge to women, urging them to reject distractions and rediscover their divine mandate.

“YOU ARE A WOMAN OF DESTINY”

Preaching on the topic “The Purpose-Driven Bride on the Narrow Way,” Pastor Buraimoh challenged women not to underestimate their significance in God’s redemptive plan. Citing biblical figures such as Queen Esther and the Queen of Sheba, he emphasized the powerful influence women can wield when aligned with divine purpose.

“As a housewife, mother, or professional, you have a great role to play. You cannot afford to fail God, your family, or your generation,” he said. “Like Esther, who rose to save her people, God has given you a golden opportunity— arise and take your place because you are a woman of destiny,” he said.

THE POWER AND PURPOSE OF WOMANHOOD

In a deeply theological exposition, the spiritual monarch broke down his message into three thematic pillars:

  • God’s Purpose for the Created Woman– Eve
  • Great Personalities of Crowned Women– Esther
  • Good Pursuit for All Good Women– Queen of Ethiopia (Sheba)

Drawing from Genesis 2:22–23 and Ecclesiastes 4:9, the cleric explained that while men were endowed with authority, women were graced with influence— a divine balance designed for partnership, not competition.

“The man has the excellency of virtue, while the woman possesses the excellency of grace,” he noted. “Man was created with authority; woman was created with influence. Together, they form an unstoppable force.”

He elaborated on the name “Eve,” calling it symbolic of motherhood and unity. “Eve” means the mother of all living. The word ‘mother’ comes from a root meaning glue or arm— signifying that the woman is the binder, the support, and the strength of the family.”

Pastor Buraimoh highlighted the three divine functions of a woman in the home: Support, Sustain, and Strengthen,  all of which he noted, are critical in today’s morally and socially challenged world.

WOMEN: BUILDERS OF GENERATIONS

Referencing the fall of humanity in the Garden of Eden, the Cassock stressed that the devil attacked Eve first, not Adam, because of her influence.

“Generations come through one woman. When the devil wanted to destroy the human race, he approached the woman, because the influence of a woman in the home and society is unmatched,” he emphasized. “The world is what it is today because women have either stood firm or fallen.”

Encouraging women to reclaim their position as builders of homes and societies, he reminded them of the value embedded in Proverbs 31.

“The Proverbs 31 woman is invaluable— she is industrious, intentional, investive, inclusive and instructive ” he said describing how she buys, plants, instructs, leads by example, and how these qualities are not beyond today’s women— they are replicable.

A CALL TO HOLINESS AND PURPOSE

With passionate exhortation, Pastor Buraimoh urged women to pursue transformation by walking the narrow path of holiness.

“You must come out from the crowd. Many women are distracted by trends, fashion, and popularity. But you are unique. There is something new God wants to do in your life, but you must be willing to be set apart,” he said.

He likened the Church— the bride of Christ— to a bride preparing for her wedding day. “No groom wants a dirty, unkempt bride. God wants His bride spotless, ready, transformed. He is calling you to rise with passion, embrace the new thing He is doing, and fulfill the purpose He created you for.”

“YOU CAN’T AFFORD TO FAIL”

Concluding his message, Pastor Buraimoh gave a heartfelt charge:

“Women are eternal in God’s covenant. Look at Sarah— she had one child, but God’s covenant through her still stands today. Don’t hide from your calling. If you don’t fulfill your destiny, you will fail your family and this generation, he said.”

Referencing 2nd Chronicles chapter 9 and the journey of the Queen of Sheba, he stressed the importance of sacrifice, pursuit of wisdom, and service.

“The Queen of Sheba journeyed far to hear wisdom. You too must be intentional— don’t follow the crowd. God has set you apart to walk the narrow way, the path of transformation,” he stated.

FINAL WORD: A UNIQUE MANDATE

With a blend of scriptural depth and practical encouragement, Pastor Buraimoh reminded attendees that every woman holds a unique mandate.

“You are the arm, the binder, the strength. God’s will and purpose for your life are not random. Embrace it fully and become the woman of destiny you were created to be, he reiterated.”
