PASTOR KUMUYI URGES COUPLES TO PRIORITIZE FORGIVENESS & RECONCILIATION FOR STRONGER FAMILIES
The General Superintendent of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry, Pastor W.F Kumuyi, has called on couples to embrace forgiveness and reconciliation as essential pillars for building harmonious and enduring families.
Speaking on the topic “Reconciliation and Progress in the Family” during the recent Global Family Conference, Pastor Kumuyi emphasized that disagreements are inevitable in marriage due to differences in upbringing, cultural values, ideologies and family backgrounds. However, he urged couples not to allow such differences to fester into resentment or separation.

“Offences are bound to happen,” he said. “But reconciliation is the pathway to progress, spiritually, professionally and within the home.”
Referencing the biblical account of Moses and Zipporah, Kumuyi highlighted how offences are bound to happens, as he recalled the temporary separation between Moses and his wife over differing beliefs, particularly regarding the practice of circumcision. “What Moses regarded as a covenantal obligation, Zipporah saw as a bloody act,” he noted. “Yet, they reconciled and were restored as a family.”
The cleric stressed the importance of transparency, effective communication, courtesy and mutual respect in marriage. “Oftentimes, what one partner values, the other may see as insignificant. That’s where understanding must come in,” stating that, “What you count important, the other may count irrelevant.”

Speaking further, the religious monarch encouraged parents to be intentional about bonding with their children. “Create time for them. Know their strengths, understand their weaknesses, and raise them holistically,” he urged.
Drawing from Exodus 18:1–5, Pastor Kumuyi highlighted how Moses reunited with his family after a season of separation and was visited by his father-in-law, Jethro. He encouraged modern families to mirror such reconciliation, noting that restoration in the family often precedes progress in other areas of life.
“Reconciliation is not just emotional; it is foundational to growth, whether in ministry, in society, or in personal development,” Kumuyi asserted.
The Global Family Conference which began on Thursday, drew global participants from various locations, regions, continents and countries, while focusing on biblical principles for nurturing godly homes.
