PASTOR KUMUYI CALLS ON COUPLES TO BUILD VISION-DRIVEN HOMES FOR A STRONGER FUTURE”
The General Superintendent of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry, Pastor Dr. W.F. Kumuyi, has called on couples to anchor their families on purposeful vision, describing it as the bedrock for long-lasting harmony, resilience, and growth.
Speaking on the title “Building Our Homes on the Bedrock of Inward Beauty” at the Global Family and Marriage Conference, the revered cleric emphasized that vision is not just an aspiration, but a spiritual and emotional investment vital to any thriving household.
“Where there is no vision, the people perish,” he emphasized, quoting from Proverbs 29:18 while stating that “a family without a meaningful vision is vulnerable to disorder, stagnation, and eventual breakdown.”
THE HOME AS A ‘BANK OF LOVE’
In a thought-provoking analogy, Pastor Kumuyi likened the family unit to a bank, stating that couples must make consistent emotional and spiritual ‘deposits’ of love, faith, hope, and support into their relationships.
“When we’re apart for good reasons, or when life presents challenges, it is from this ‘bank of love’ that we draw strength and connection,” he said.
SEVEN VISIONS FOR A TRANSFORMED FAMILY
Pastor Kumuyi laid out seven visionary pillars he believes every couple must embrace to safeguard and enrich their home:
Vision for the Household:
The Spiritual leader advised families to “Wake up each day with defined goals”noting that a family without direction is like a ship without a compass.
Vision of Hope:
Recalling the unwavering faith of Abraham, he encouraged families never to surrender to hopelessness, no matter the circumstances. “Hope gives light to the darkest moments,” he said.
Vision of Health:
Pastor Kumuyi stressed why families need to prioritise healthy living, proper nutrition, and wellness, urging them to eat healthy foods in order to be strong and fulfill definite set goals for the family, as prevention is always better than cure.
Vision of Happiness:
He further emphasized how a merry heart does good like medicine, and a joyful home, is a healing environment, stressing that “Without joy, the home becomes a desert.”
Vision of Honour:
The General Superintendent pinpointed how respect within the home is foundational, asserting that “honour begins at home, between spouses, between parents and children. If we don’t uplift each other, who will?” he questioned.
Vision of Helpfulness:
He further revealed how mutual support isn’t optional, noting that it’s divine design. “You must always think of what you can do to help the other person in the family. It is the plan and will of God that a couple renders help one to the other,” he said.
Vision of Holiness:
Rounding up the session, the holiness preacher emphasized the necessity of having a spiritual grounding and how a holy home is a safe home, as he prayerfully concluded his sermon with an heartfelt prayer for every household to gracefully age like Abraham and Sarah.
The Global Family and Marriage Conference which attracted participants from across continents, many tuning in virtually through social media and designated hubs around the world continues through Sunday, August 31, with a series of sessions aimed at realigning, restructuring, reigniting family relationships and promoting values that empower couples, strengthen parenting, and instill purpose in the next generation.

The inaugural Global Family and Marriage Conference, which began on August 28, was conceived to confront growing challenges facing the family unit, known as the first and most sacred institution, and to restore dignity and unity of purpose, that aligns with the divine design for families worldwide.
