FROM DEFEAT TO GLORY: NIGERIA’S SUPER FALCONS DAZZLE AS LAWMAKERS, TINUBU CELEBRATE 10TH WAFCON VICTORY

In a match that had fans on the edge of their seats, Nigeria’s Super Falcons pulled off a stunning 3-2 comeback victory against hosts Morocco in the final of the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), prompting praise from the House of Representatives Committee on Sports.

The final, held in Rabat, saw Nigeria trailing by two goals at halftime before launching an extraordinary second-half turnaround to clinch the championship title.

Chairman of the House Committee on Sports, Hon. Kabiru Amadu, who watched the gripping encounter live alongside other officials, commended the Super Falcons for their tenacity, teamwork, and unyielding spirit.

Amadu described the triumph as a proud moment for the nation and a powerful source of motivation for the country’s youth, emphasizing the team’s role as role models for perseverance and excellence in sports.

Correspondingly, President Bola Tinubu has pledged a hero’s welcome for the Super Falcons upon their return, in recognition of their record-extending 10th WAFCON title.

Their fearless comeback— battling back from a 2-0 deficit against the host nation wasn’t just a victory on the pitch, but a defining moment of national pride. As the country prepares to celebrate its champions, the Super Falcons’ triumph serves as a powerful reminder to all Nigerians: with determination and unity, no challenge is insurmountable.
