‎DSP Jimoh said CP Ohagwu officially took over command in Akure following his deployment by the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, psc(+), NPM, as part of a nationwide strategic reorganisation of police leadership aimed at strengthening internal security and operational efficiency.

‎Shortly after assuming office at the State Police Headquarters in Akure, CP Ohagwu pledged to prioritise the protection of lives and property and to strengthen existing security structures across Ondo State.

‎He said his administration would focus on intelligence-led policing, community engagement and collaboration with other security agencies to curb crime and criminality in the state.

‎He also promised to uphold accountability, professionalism and respect for human rights, adding that officers under his command would be guided by ethical policing standards and global best practices.

‎The Commissioner thanked the Inspector-General of Police for the confidence reposed in him and commended his predecessor for his contributions to maintaining peace and stability in the state.

‎The Command urged residents to support police operations by providing timely and credible information to assist crime prevention efforts.

‎Residents can reach the Commissioner of Police on 0803 712 7198 for security-related matters, the statement said.
