ONDO CLERIC CALLS ON CHRISTIANS TO PRIORITISE GODLY LIVING OVER WORLDLY PURSUITS

Believers have been urged to remain focused on eternity and live purposeful lives that reflect God’s will while on earth.

‎The charge was given by Pastor Samuel Abosede during a Sunday service sermon titled “Living to Labor Only For God’s Glory” at Deeper Life Bible Church, Agiodo, in Ondo City.

‎In his message, the cleric described humans as strangers and pilgrims in the world, noting that life is transient and likening the body to a temporary “house of clay.”

He emphasized that Christians must live with the sole aim of pleasing God and avoid misrepresenting Christ. He cited Hebrews 11:9–10 to illustrate the need for believers to focus on a heavenly destination built by God.

‎Pastor Samuel further urged Christians to ensure that their actions and attitudes at all times align with God’s expectations.

He cautioned against excessive worldly pursuits, stressing the importance of living in readiness as pilgrims and abstaining from all forms of evil.

‎Quoting Psalms 119:19 and 54, he highlighted the importance of intentional living, noting that conscious pilgrims prioritize obedience to God’s commandments.

‎The pastor further encouraged believers to uphold godly conduct, maintain honesty and a clear conscience, and avoid actions that could bring dishonour.

He advised them to be law-abiding, embrace strong work ethics, and continually promote God’s glory as they journey towards eternity.
