The Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Eno, has commended Pastor William Folorunso Kumuyi, General Superintendent of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry, for his humility, fatherly leadership, and respectful approach to Christian ministry.

The governor made the remarks at the Government House in Uyo while receiving Pastor Kumuyi on a courtesy visit ahead of the ongoing Global Crusade with Kumuyi (GCK) holding in the state.

Speaking during the visit, Governor Eno praised Pastor Kumuyi’s long-standing commitment to preaching the gospel with love and dignity, noting that such values remain essential for effective Christian leadership and societal harmony.

“You cannot denigrate a people and expect them to receive your message,” the governor said.

“Love, respect, and humility must remain the foundational principles of Christian leadership.”

The governor’s comments were widely interpreted as a reaffirmation of Akwa Ibom State’s values of tolerance and mutual respect, particularly in the wake of recent disparaging remarks made by another cleric against the people of the state.

Governor Eno noted that Akwa Ibom remains a peaceful, welcoming, and tolerant state, adding that the government would continue to open its doors to religious leaders who promote unity rather than division.

“Akwa Ibom State is peaceful, welcoming, and tolerant. We will always open our doors to men of God who preach love, unity, and respect for our people and our values,” he said.

He thanked Pastor Kumuyi for the visit and for praying for the state, expressing confidence that the Global Crusade would have a positive spiritual and social impact on residents.

“I wish him a fruitful crusade as we continue to build a state anchored on peace, dignity, and progress,” the governor added.

Pastor Kumuyi is in Uyo to minister at the #GCKinUyo themed Fresh Anointing for a New Beginning, a large-scale evangelical outreach drawing worshippers from across Akwa Ibom State and beyond.
