NYSC CONFIRMS LOW-KEY POP FOR BATCH C STREAM II, SCHEDULES DECEMBER 18 EXIT
The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has announced Thursday, December 18, 2025, as the official Passing-Out Parade (POP) date for members of the 2024 Batch C Stream II, confirming that the ceremony will be held on a low key across the country.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, NYSC’s Director of Information and Public Relations, Ms Caroline Embu, said the management approved a modest closing ceremony focused on the distribution of Certificates of National Service (CNS) at all local government secretariats nationwide.
According to the scheme, preparatory activities have begun, including:
- Job Advisory and Counselling sessions conducted by NYSC and partner agencies.
- Final clearance procedures overseen by Zonal Inspectors
- Administrative verification of corps members exiting the programme
The statement added that these activities are designed to ensure a smooth winding-up and passing-out process for all eligible corps members.
NYSC Director-General, Brigadier General Olakunle Nafiu, congratulated the outgoing corps members and encouraged them to uphold the core values of discipline, integrity, and service as they transition into life after NYSC.
He urged them to remain “good ambassadors of the Scheme” and continue contributing to nation-building in their various communities and careers.
Established in 1973, the NYSC programme is a one-year compulsory service for Nigerian graduates under 30.
The scheme aims to promote national unity, cultural integration, and community development.
The service year starts with a three-week orientation camp, followed by a primary assignment where corps members work in key sectors like education, health, and agriculture. They also take part in community projects that support local development.
Through these activities, corps members contribute significantly to national progress while gaining practical skills, work experience, and exposure to diverse cultures.
